Bed rebuild

A friend contacted me and said “I have bought a bed but can’t put it together, can I lend a hand”. I went along to help and spent some time scratching my head. None of the brackets lined up, as you can see from the pictures, the sides need to hang off the front and back, but the brackets were all out of line and too low, making the entire frame out of square. Some random middle brackets not for this bed, screws missing, screws not put in straight no instructions and broken slats, the inside fabric had 30 staples in 30 cm then 1 every 10cm, the finish was appalling!

I measured up the entire frame, worked out the dimensions for the brackets on the headboard, they were originally 110mm out, refixed them into the correct position, stapled all the inside fabric and rear of the headboard so it is more uniformed and no big gaps for it to get caught and torn, made some custom feet out of Oak, as they kindly didn’t include any!

Installed their new ceiling light and stuck the wallpaper up while I was there too!

The customer made a short video displaying the work done to show her appreciation from saving a brand new £500 bed she was about to throw out.
